Miembro del colectivo de arte Freee. Escritor, profesor de Arte en Valand Academy, Gotemburgo (Suecia). Su libro Art and value (Brill, 2015) fue preseleccionado para el Deutscher Memorial Prize. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en la Bienal de Estambul y la Bienal de Liverpool. Escribe regularmente en Art Monthly, es co-autor del libro Philistine Controversy (Verso, 2002) junto con John Roberts. Editó el MIT/Whitechapel Book of Beauty y es fundador y co-editor del diario Art and the Public Sphere.
