Bachelor in History by the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), she has a Master Degree in Art History by the Ohio State University, USA. From 1997 to 2000 she was president of the Mexican Committee of Art History. For eight years she was Director of the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas, UNAM (Aesthetic Investigation Institute), and from 2005 to 2007 she was coordinator of the Art History Graduate Program, at the Universidad National Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM). She has been part of numerous symposiums and lectures on art history. Among her most important work we can mention "Surrealismo en America Latina" (Surrealism in Latin America) and "Arte, Historic e identidad en las Americas" (Art, History and Identity in America). She also has a large list of publications both national and internationally. In 1981, she participated in the emblematic Coloquio Latinoamericano sobre arte no objetual organized by Juan Acha in Medellin, Colombia.
