Art critic, writer and independent curator based in San Sebastián (Spain). His writing takes up critical theory, contemporary art, design and other popular culture expressions. He is the author of La línea de producción de la crítica (consonni, 2014) and publishes in specialty journals as well both Spanish and international periodicals such as La Vanguardia’s Cultura(s), A-desk, Afterall, A Prior Magazine, Exit Express, Flash Art, e-flux journal, ERRATA, Concreta, and El País newspaper’s Babelia section. He has presented numerous artists in their show catalogues including Philippe Parreno, Ibon Aranberri, Annika Eriksson, Liam Gillick, Asier Mendizabal, Susan Philipsz, Wendelien van Oldenborgh, Fiona Tan, Armando Andrade Tudela and Dora García; he has curated numerous solo and collective shows as well as artist projects.
He will serve as Spanish pavilion curator at the 58th Venice Biennial in 2019 and has published cultural critique in the blog Crítica y metacomentario (http://peioaguirre.blogspot.com) since 2006.
