Born in Peru, Jota Castro has lived in Latin America, Haiti, the United States, Northern Ireland, Spain, France and Belgium. He arrived in France after obtaining the Young Poetry Prize of Peru. He holds a master's degree in political science and a doctorate in art and politics. He has worked for the European Economic Community and the United Nations. His exhibitions include: Continental Shift, Ludwig Forum, Aachen; Voici, Palais de Beaux Arts, Brussels; Hardcore, Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and his participation in Zone of Urgency within the Venice Biennale.
