He received his PhD from the Department of Art History and Theory at the University of Essex. Currently he holds a postdoctoral residency at the Institute of Research in Aesthetics (IIE) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). 

He teaches in the Philosophy and Literature Department at the UNAM, and is an instructor in the postgraduate program at the Center for Critical Studies 17. His work has been published in Apposite, Papers of Surrealism, and the British Journal of Photography as well as in the Magazine La Tempestad, on which editorial board he also serves.
